As the Director of Public Engagement and Communication, Faye Zuckerman oversees the marketing, public relations, promotion, messaging, branding and assists with the educational advocacy. Working in public service has been meaningful to her specifically helping others navigate the complicated world of communication and public relations.

The arts, culture and creatives are a vital part a community. She feels it is beholden upon her to tell the story of the impact of the arts in our daily lives. It is an honor to be part of such a strong team that is dedicated to our state’s outstanding creative community.

Bio

Faye has an extensive background in the fields of publishing, journalism, policy and communication. She is a former Providence Journal reporter/editor and New York Times syndicated columnist, who transitioned into the field of communication after opting for a buy-out from the Providence Journal. She had a wonderful career in journalism and feels lucky that she was able to easily move into the nonprofit field as a public relations and marketing professional. One of her first forays into public service was as a senior member of Governor Chafee’s administration. Zuckerman was the Governor’s Director of Communication and oversaw the communication team and the state’s network of Public Information Officers and acting as the Governor’s primary speechwriter and the communication office’s director.

Currently, she sits on the Board of the League of Women Voters of Rhode Island as the First Vice President. She previously took charge of communication, marketing and advocacy for the Rhode Island Philharmonic, Rhode Island Housing, as well as acted as the lead lobbyist for AARP and the Brain Injury Association. She holds a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison; and has a master’s degree in journalism from the California State University, Northridge.
