The Alexey von Schlippe Gallery at UConn Avery Point has a call for artists of Rhode Island (Washington County) and eastern Connecticut (New London, Windham, Tolland and Middlesex counties) to submit two-dimensional artworks that speak to human experience and community. Vermont Studio Center: Call for a Visual Artist and a Writer

Vermont Studio Center (VSC) has a call for an artist and writer residency. It is located in historic Vermont, overlooking the Gihon River in the northern Green Mountains. The program offers residents and the general public an opportunity to engage with global creative communities. The residency includes mentor residents, present readings, facilitate craft talks, and give lectures that are open to the public.  Applications are juried together in a pool by a rotating jury of practicing artists and writers.

Sunspot Lit: Call for Writers and Artists

Sunspot Lit has an Inception contest that offers $100 plus publication for the best opening. Beginnings have the power to spark passion or curiosity. A poem handles this differently than a flash piece, which handles an opening differently than a novel. The first photo, painting or frame presented in a gallery, series, or graphic novel strives for the same intent. Openings contain a spark that promises to burn. Authors and artists eligible. All genres accepted.
