Cindy Macz-Duncan, Fiscal Management Officer, brings more than a decade of experience in financial and grants management, federal reporting and compliance, operations, and executive and organizational leadership, including prior roles as Director of Finance and Grants & Contracts Analyst for mission-driven organizations.

Born, raised, and educated in Guatemala, Cindy is bilingual in English and Spanish and has an educational background in Political Science and Business Administration. Much of her career has been rooted in community-focused work, including, working alongside Native American communities in Rhode Island and Arizona. Her heritage and professional experience have shaped a deep appreciation for culture, identity, community, and the importance of preserving and celebrating the stories that connect people.

Cindy is also passionate about making financial information practical and accessible. Her work developing budget tracking systems for federally funded programs led to the opportunity to present at the 46th National Indian and Native American Employment and Training conference in Sacramento, California, there, she shared practical approaches to budget monitoring, expenditure tracking, and helping program leaders better understand and manage their funding. She values not only building effective systems but also sharing knowledge and creating tools that others can confidently use.

When Cindy made Rhode Island her home, she found a welcoming and diverse community that she quickly came to care deeply about. Over the years, she has built meaningful connections across the state and developed an even greater appreciation for the traditions, perspectives, and stories that make Rhode Island Unique. Joining RISCA brought together her professional experience, commitment to public service, and personal appreciation for the creativity and people that enrich the state she calls home.
