Artists are invited to apply for an Arts and Climate Grant
Published on Thursday, October 01, 2026
Providence, RI—The Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA) and the Executive Climate Change Coordinating Council Advisory Board (EC4 AB) announced today that applications are now open for a grant program for artists that connects the arts with climate change.
Called the Arts and Climate Grant, the program, funded by the EC4 AB and implemented by RISCA, supports Rhode Island-based arts and culture projects that translate complex climate information into accessible, resonant visuals, stories and experiences. The grant is open to artists from all disciplines, with a goal of improving public access and understanding of climate change and building public support and participation in climate action in Rhode Island.
“As we see the climate crisis accelerating in our state, artists and creatives are uniquely qualified to communicate directly with our diverse communities, and to imagine the creative solutions we need,” said Todd Trebour, RISCA Executive Director. “We look forward to working across state agencies to involve artists in one of the most challenging and complex issues facing our state.”
“The EC4 Advisory Board is thrilled to draw on the creativity of Rhode Island’s artists to engage Rhode Islanders in a dialogue about climate change and how we can build a climate-ready and climate-resilient future,” said Emily Koo, EC4 Advisory Board member.
The deadline to submit an application for the Arts and Climate grant is Nov. 2 at 11:59 p.m.
