Arts and Health--Creative Support for Students
Be in the room as licensed mental health professionals, teaching artists, and students discuss the mental health crisis, and how the arts help students thrive in and out of the classroom. Presented in partnership with RISCA, RIDOH and The Core.
Speakers
• Gloria Crist - Founder/Artistic Director of The CORE Organization, Arts Integrated Specialist and passionate advocate for inclusive arts access/arts outreach for all children K-12. Her non profit (thinkfeelcreate.org) provides arts enrichment throughout Newport County and Southeastern Massachusetts. Her acting career spans over 30 years of professional theater and an ongoing career in film. She holds a BA in sociology and communications, MA in Holistic Counseling and a CAGS in Creative and Expressive Arts, and numerous certifications. She specializes in working with children and adolescents K-12, designing and implementing programs that provide a creative, expressive, social emotional foundation allowing young people to thrive through the creative process.
• Dr. Jacquelyn Cutillo - Assistant Clinical Director for the New England offices of Youth Villages, a national non-profit child welfare organization, where she has worked for over 15 years. In this role, Jacque is responsible for ensuring clinical interventions and trainings are delivered with fidelity. Additionally, Jacque maintains a small caseload at a local mental health counseling practice, and specializes in working with children and adolescents, and their families. Jacque has a Ph.D. from NorthCentral University, a M.A. from the Michigan School of Professional Psychology, and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Jacque’s background includes navigating issues related to diversity in the mental health system of care, collaborative problem solving, and managing crisis situations with families in need. Jacque lives in Blackstone, MA with her husband, daughter, and three dogs.
