Call for Artists: R.I. Fire Academy Phase 3, Exeter, R.I.

Eligibility: Open to all working artists from New England and New York. Students are ineligible to apply.
Budget: $28,000.
Deadline: Sept. 3, 2024
Artwork for Phase 3 of the R.I. Academy will be commissioned through Rhode Island’s Public Art Law, which mandates that 1% of all state capital construction and renovation funds be allocated to the purchase and maintenance of public art. Through this program, the State recognizes that “public art creates a more humane environment: one of distinction, enjoyment, and pride for all citizens”. The Public Arts and Culture Committee of Watertown, Mass., has a call for public art initiative

Expert Pairings invites artists and scientists to explore the ecology of Watertown and collaborate on temporary public artwork. Artists and scientists can submit qualifications individually or as a pair. Individuals will be paired so that each Expert Pairing features one artist and one scientist as lead collaborators.
